ABOUT MCA
Born in Detroit. Built for All Operations.
Motorcity Automated Systems, LLC (MCA) was built from the ground up right here in Detroit, Michigan. We know the grit, the hustle, and the unyielding work ethic that keeps this city moving because we live it every day. For years, local trade shops and independent operators have been forced to rely on bloated, overpriced enterprise software built by people who don't even know where 8 Mile is. They charge corporate markups for tools that don't solve real-world problems.

FOUNDER & LEAD ARCHITECT
Moseph A. Nelson
GROUNDED IN THE TRADES, FORGED IN DETROIT
My approach to technology isn't born from a textbook — it's forged from a deep, foundational passion for computational science and the realities of the physical trades. Growing up homeschooled in Highland Park, my education was a community-built mosaic of books, life advice, and hands-on skills. Any adult who could contribute to my development did so with whatever resources they could muster.
My technical foundation started early at home, where my father taught me backend development and Python while operating Nelson Applied Technologies, LLC. But he knew the limits of his own work: what good is a flashy website if a business drops the ball the second a customer calls after hours? That ground-level perspective came from my mother, who dispatched across towing, HVAC, and property maintenance — immersing me in supply shops and active job sites where I watched administrative friction break businesses in real time.
Losing both of my parents coming into my adult years taught me that formal credentials don't stand between an entrepreneur and something greater — execution does. Watching my father spot minute technical bottlenecks, combined with my mother's mastery of trade workflows, taught me to build targeted solutions instead of over-generalized packages that fail half the time. That is why I evolved Nelson Applied Technologies into Motorcity Automated Systems, LLC — to close the gap between physical limitations and digital infrastructure.
Beyond software, we are committed to establishing dedicated spaces right here in Detroit where senior and student entrepreneurs can meet face-to-face — structured learning environments where young people learn to spot day-to-day operational friction and engineer solutions with the latest technology available.
The Pivot: From Marketing to Machine Work
MCA's story evolved from its roots as a digital marketing and SEO agency that spent over a decade helping small businesses get found, ranked, and remembered online. Years inside hundreds of operations exposed a pattern no amount of marketing could fix: the real bottleneck wasn't visibility — it was administration.
Field crews were capturing critical data on scraps of paper, in voice memos nobody transcribed, and in work orders that took days to become quotes, invoices, and compliance records. The tools meant to fix it were enterprise suites built for people who never set foot on a job site. Motorcity Automated Systems was born from that pivot — taking everything learned bridging physical limitations and digital infrastructure, and applying it directly to operational software and physical execution.
Core Mission
Bridging physical limitations and digital infrastructure. Every product targets one acute bottleneck — a voice memo that never becomes an invoice, a permit that stalls a crew for a week, a transit rider juggling three apps — and resolves it with a tool a working operator can adopt in minutes.
The 2-Hub Subsidiary Architecture
To solve these bottlenecks without the corporate bloat, MCA governs two primary operating arms.

Detroit Core Automation, LLC
SOFTWARE HOLDING SUBSIDIARY
Houses our portfolio of cloud-native micro-SaaS products and urban infrastructure apps — with DPM - Go!, FamilyVault, and SquadRun leading the pack and five more in active build.

Detroit Quality Services, LLC
PHYSICAL OPERATIONS SUBSIDIARY
Our physical trade and property services operating arm, delivering structured property maintenance tiers across Metro Detroit while scaling toward a public-private municipal framework that empowers local citizens.
Local infrastructure, built by builders, for the people who actually do the work.
